Biology of Human Tumors The Prostate Cancer Susceptibility Variant rs2735839 Near KLK3 Gene Is Associated with Aggressive Prostate Cancer and Can Stratify Gleason Score 7 Patients

چکیده
Purpose:Gleason score (GS) 7 prostate cancer is a heterogeneous diseasewith different clinical behavior. We sought to identify genetic biomarkers that may predict the aggressiveness of GS 7 diseases. Experimental Design:We genotyped 72 prostate cancer susceptibility SNPs identified in genome-wide association studies in 1,827 white men with histologically confirmed prostate adenocarcinoma. SNPs associated with disease aggressiveness were identified by comparing high-aggressive (GS 8) and lowaggressive (GS 6) cases. The significant SNPswere then tested to seewhether they could further stratifyGS7

متن کاملAssociation between rs2735839 and Serum Prostate-specific Antigen Level Regarding Risk of Prostate Cancer in Iranian Population
Background and Objective: Prostate cancer is among the five common cancers in males. It is second cancer in terms of the age-standardized rate (ASR) (ASR=16.6) in Iran. The rs2735839 G/A, an intergenic polymorphism is located on chromosome 19q13.33 at 600 base pairs of the KLK3 gene untranslatable region. This gene which codes prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is used in the screening and diagnos...
متن کاملStudy the Expression of CD10 in Prostate Carcinoma and its Correlation with Various Clinicopathological Parameters
Background and Objective: Adenocarcinoma of the prostate is the second most common cause of cancer. The loss of CD10 is a common early event in human prostate cancer and is seen in lower Gleason Score malignancies while increased and altered expression is seen in high Gleason Score tumors, lymph nodes and bone metastasis. Material and Methods: This was a ...
متن کاملEvaluation of gene expression level of GPRC6A, E.cadherin and ZEB1 in prostate cancer in comparison to benign tissues
Background: Prostate cancer is currently the third malignant disease in Iran and fifth common cancer worldwide. The aim of this study was to determine the expression of GPRC6A, E.cadherin, and ZEB1 genes in prostate cancer in comparison with benign tumor. Since early detection of cancer plays an important role in treatment, this study aims to identify the role of GPRC6A, E.cadherin and ZEB1 gen...
متن کاملBone scintigraphy in staging of newly diagnosed prostate cancer in regard of different risk groups
Objective(s): Prostate cancer (PC) is the most common cancer in men over 50 years of age. Bone scintigraphy is still performed in many institutions at the time of primary diagnosis. We aimed to evaluate the role of bone scan in the primary staging of PC in regard of different risk groups. Methods: A retrospective analysis of bone scans i...
